Transparent pentacene-based photoconductor: high photoconductivity effect

چکیده
In this paper, the fabrication and characterisation of pentacene-based photoconductors using indium tin oxide electrodes obtained by ion beam sputtering are discussed. The photoelectric properties of pentacene under red (632 nm) and ultraviolet (365 nm) illuminations were investigated. We have shown that the photocurrent was dependent on the wavelength, bias voltage and illumination side of the device. Moreover, we have demonstrated with transparent electrodes that the top contact configuration yields better performance compared to the bottom contact configuration. We obtained a maximum photoconductivity gain of approximately 3×10 and a faster dynamic response when the photoconductor with top contact geometry was illuminated with ultraviolet light from the semiconductor side (top illumination), with a photoconductivity estimated at 10 Ω cm.

We present a comprehensive study of the optical and transient photoconductive properties of pentacene and functionalized pentacene thin films grown by evaporation or from solution onto a variety of substrates. The transient photoconductivity was studied over picosecond time scales using time-resolved terahertz pulse spectroscopy. The structure and morphology of the films were assessed using x-r...
متن کاملPersistent Photoconductivity Studies in Nanostructured ZnO UV Sensors
The phenomenon of persistent photoconductivity is elusive and has not been addressed to an extent to attract attention both in micro and nanoscale devices due to unavailability of clear material systems and device configurations capable of providing comprehensive information. In this work, we have employed a nanostructured (nanowire diameter 30-65 nm and 5 μm in length) ZnO-based metal-semicond...

متن کاملCurrent transport across the pentacene/CVD-grown graphene interface for diode applications.
We investigate the electronic transport properties across the pentacene/graphene interface. Current transport across the pentacene/graphene interface is found to be strikingly different from transport across pentacene/HOPG and pentacene/Cu interfaces. At low voltages, diodes using graphene as a bottom electrode display Poole–Frenkel emission, while diodes with HOPG and Cu electrodes are dominat...
